Charles Leclerc is one of the most popular and talented drivers in F1 today. The Monegasque driver made his debut in 2018, and after a spectacular season with Sauber, earned his dream move to Scuderia Ferrari. Regarded as one of the most talented drivers of his generation, Leclerc is labeled as the driver who is destined to bring Championship glory back to Maranello.
Since he was a child, Leclerc always wanted to race for Ferrari. He did not have an easy junior career if his personal life is taken into account, because he lost two very important people at a very early age. Leclerc’s close friend and godfather Jules Bianchi was an F1 driver for Marussia, who tragically lost his life after a crash at the 2014 Japanese GP.
Just two after Bianchi’s passing, Leclerc lost his father, which was another huge blow for him. Joining Ferrari wasn’t just his dream, it was also his father’s. This is why Leclerc feels that driving for the prancing horses is so special for him. Now that he has achieved his dream, he wants to help other young kids with the same ambition, realize theirs.

Leclerc has been with Ferrari for four whole seasons now. The Scuderia has had a torrid few years, with multiple issues limiting their Championship charge and Leclerc has endured it all. Some people feel that with his talent, he should head over to a team that can consistently fight for the Championship, but Leclerc insists that team is Ferrari.
In 2022, Leclerc’s campaign started on the right note with two wins in three races. However, strategy goof-ups and reliability issues became his Achilles heel as he lost out on the Title to Max Verstappen. Heading into 2023, Leclerc reiterated his pride in driving for Ferrari and is optimistic about the immediate future.

“It was a big emotion because it was my childhood dream to get into F1 and race for the prancing horse,” he said to La Gazzetta. “even though I was not an official Ferrari driver at that moment.”
“I would like to help talented young people, who don’t have the means, to emerge and make their dreams come true. However, it is a project that takes time and therefore I only see it as possible in the future.”
