Fernando Alonso Is Selling His Ferrari for $5,400,000 So He Can Win Aston Martin's Rare Classic in an Auction

Fernando Alonso made news recently, announcing that he is selling his much revered Ferrari Enzo. The car designed by the Italian automakers has only 400 units worldwide. Thus, there is no denying that it would get sold for a huge amount of money. It’s being reported that it could fetch $5,400,000 from the auction. And as per a Spanish outlet Minutod, Alonso is doing to get his hands on an Aston Martin classic.

Alonso’s decision to sell his Ferrari initially came as a surprise. Because Ferrari Enzo, which was made in 2002, is one of the rarest automobile assets in the world.

But Alonso has now seen another luxury car revered for its style. The Spaniard reportedly has set his eyes on Aston Martin DB4 GT, and the sale of his Ferrari would fund that objective now.

Fernando Alonso wants to win the auction for Aston Martin

The luxury Aston Martin car would also go under auction on July 14 by Bonhams, and it has apparently lured several car lovers, including Alonso. However, the source claims that winning the auction could cost the Asturian several million.

Therefore, Ferrari is used to make room for the Aston Martin in the two-time world champion’s garage. Despite being one of the productions by Aston Martin, this particular DB4 GT is very unique.

Actor Lionel Jeffries once possessed this particular model. He got this after the same model car was used in his film, “The wrong arm of the law.” Soon after he brought that home, he made several changes in the car that certainly boosted its price and got Alonso’s attention.

What’s so different about this car?

After adding this car to his extensive collection, Jeffries made some impressive modifications to the car. He removed the 3.7-liter engine that came from the factory and replaced it with a 4.0-liter engine to improve its performance.

But apart from performance, it also became a unique piece worldwide. Minutod claims the car has caught Alonso’s attention, given its special configuration.

Unlike the auction of Ferrari Enzo that Alonso announced, he hasn’t publicly shown interest in this car. But it is believed he wants to win this auction at any cost.
