Romain Grosjean is one of the most experienced racing drivers in the world at the moment. He has raced both in Europe and the US, so he has experience driving in several different racing ventures. Now, coming with his vast experience, he recently claimed in the Track Limits podcast that IndyCar makes tougher cars than F1. Grosjean, who raced in both IndyCar and F1 believes in this as the American version of open-wheel racing competes in a wide ‘range’ of tracks.
IndyCar ventured into the heartland of Canada when they hosted a race in Toronto this July. The Grand Prix of Toronto was the tenth round of the NTT IndyCar championship this year and it was won by Christian Lundgaard. Even though the race was normal, the track they chose to host it grabbed everyone’s attention.

Regarded as one of the most technical circuits around the world, one needs to be in their top game to cross the finish line here. This will not be possible in an F1 car, as revealed by Grosjean recently.
Romain Grosjean shares one prominent difference between F1 and IndyCar
During a recent podcast, Romain Grosjean was asked about his IndyCar journey and how it has been so far. Speaking on it, he revealed intricate details about the American motorsport series such as how expensive it is to run a team and how advanced it is technology-wise.
While the former Haas driver was talking about this, he stated how F1 cars are inferior to that of IndyCar when it comes to structure. He said, “They [IndyCar] are really made for different types of circuit you know. IndyCar can race in Toronto, which is bumpy.”
Following this, he also added, “The Formula 1 cars wouldn’t last three laps. So breaking down and they wouldn’t work well.” Along with this, the former F1 driver also revealed that IndyCar has the fastest cars in motorsport.
Grosjean picks his side in Indy vs F1
Grosjean, the IndyCar driver has revealed that cars in IndyCar are much faster than F1. However, when pitted in a proper circuit, he admitted that F1 cars would beat the former in terms of speed.
There have been constant comparisons between the two series and their level of competition. While actually comparing them is difficult, Grosjean’s recent claim gives more evidence in favor of the American racing series.
Finally, when it came to taking sides, Romain Grosjean asserted that both Formula 1 and IndyCar has their strengths and weakness. Consequently, he refrained from offending either fanbase.
