Kimi Raikkonen’s Wife Minttu Raikkonen Rejoices as Their Son Robin Wins His First Ever Race

Last month, Kimi Raikkonen’s son Robin Raikkonen stood on the podium for the first time ever, and the entire family was elated. Now, young Robin has followed it up with yet another achievement, as he wins his first race in karting.

Following in the footsteps of his father Kimi, who remains Ferrari’s last world champion, Robin has started strongly in the karting circuit. At the age of eight, he got his first podium finish, competing against drivers much older than him.

Raikkonen’s wife Minttu posted a picture on her Instagram story, of Robin standing on the top step of the podium after his latest race. She wrote “Champion” as a caption, and tagged Kimi Raikkonen in the picture of Robin holding up the winner’s trophy!

Kimi Raikkonen too, posted a video on his Instagram, of his son crossing the finish line first.

Bright future ahead for Kimi Raikkonen’s son predicted

During his time at Ferrari, Kimi Raikkonen worked very closely with Gino Rosato. Rosato was so close to the Raikkonen family that when Robin was born, he was named the child’s godfather. After he earned his first podium place in karting last month, Rosato was so proud of his godson that he went on Instagram to share his pride.

“My boy at 8 years old fighting 11-year-olds,” said Rosato. “First race podium.”

Rosato hailed Kimi and Minttu Raikkonen for raising Robin brilliantly. Raikkonen’s wife Minttu, however, hailed Rosato too, for being a great godfather to the young rising talent.

Robin’s sister destined for success too

The entire Raikkonen family and their fans were ecstatic about Robin securing a podium finish in April. They shared messages on social media, hailing the 8-year-old as a future world champion for Ferrari. This jubilation doubled when Robin’s young sister Rianna, earned a podium finish herself on the same weekend.

Rianna is just five years old but has already fallen in love with the world of racing. When she too stood on the podium, Kimi was so proud that he posted a picture of her on his story too, with the caption, “Busy weekend, two podiums.”
