Max Verstappen is currently in a league of his own as no rival seems to have come close to him recently. While the Dutchman is already a two-time world champion, he is currently also on course to achieve something that no one has accomplished before in the sport. If the 25-year-old were to win the Italian Grand Prix this weekend, he would become the first driver in F1 history to register 10 consecutive victories. Since the Red Bull driver is in such fine form, F1 expert Will Buxton has compared him to legends such as Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton while recently speaking on the 26th episode of the DRS: De Race Show.

That is not it as Buxton also went to the extent of stating that Verstappen has a chance of winning all the remaining races of this season. Buxton believes that Verstappen is in such a space at the moment that no driver will also be able to stop him in the next season.

Will Buxton believes no one can stop Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen has become a phenomenon as fans and F1 experts cannot stop talking about him. With him already having won his 46th Grand Prix at the age of just 25, he could very well break some of the biggest records in the sport.

As Verstappen targets a record-breaking tenth consecutive win at Monza this weekend, Will Buxton explains why no one can stop the Dutchman. When asked if Verstappen would win all the remaining races this year, Buxton replied, “Completely true“.

He was then asked if anyone can stop the Red Bull driver this season, to which Buxton replied, “No one. Who can stop him next season? No one. Max right now is in the most insane form for a driver I have seen since Lewis (Hamilton) was at his absolute peak“.

The 42-year-old then went on to add how Verstappen is scripting a unique history. The British presenter believes that the legacy Verstappen is creating at the moment is similar to that of Ayrton Senna at McLaren, Michael Schumacher at Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes.

Buxton then went on to make a special comparison between Verstappen and Schumacher. The 42-year-old believes that the two drivers are alike as their rise to the top has been similar.

Buxton pointed out how Schumacher also won his first championship in controversial circumstances, similar to how Verstappen won his against Hamilton in 2021. And from that point on, both drivers established complete dominance.

After stating the same, Buxton believes that only two drivers on the current grid can challenge Verstappen. The first name is seven-time champion Hamilton and the other is double world champion Fernando Alonso.

Norris or Leclerc cannot stop Verstappen

In the same interview, Will Buxton explained why he does not see the likes of either Charles Leclerc or Lando Norris being able to stop Max Verstappen even if all three drove the same car. This is because the 42-year-old believes that both Leclerc and Norris are still not as consistent as the Dutchman to achieve the dominance he has been accomplishing so far.

Buxton then also pointed out how Sergio Perez has been receiving a lot of flak despite being a strong driver. The British presenter believes that comparing Perez with Verstappen is not fair as the 25-year-old is in another league of drivers.

Buxton believes that only Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton can stop Verstappen but that too would be incredibly difficult considering how Verstappen has been dominating recently. It is this reason why Buxton believes that the championship would have been far more entertaining had Perez had someone else as a teammate at Red Bull other than Verstappen.
