Mugello Circuit F1 : The race at Ferrari’s Mugello F1 circuit will be known as the Tuscan Grand Prix. It will mark Ferrari’s 1000th race in F1.

F1 has announced that the Mugello circuit in Italy and the Russian GP at Sochi have been added to 2020.

Facts about the Mugello F1 circuit

The Mugello circuit is well-renowned for its MotoGP races, and more importantly, for being owned by Ferrari. It is a test circuit for F1 cars, especially Ferrari, with them testing before the season opener. 

The Mugello circuit will also mark Ferrari’s 1000th race in the F1 world championship. The race is set for September 11-13, one week after the Italian GP in Monza. Mugello is the fourth Italian circuit in F1 history, after Pescara, the iconic Imola, and Monza.
The Mugello Circuit is 5.245 km in length straight line stretch of 1.141 km. The racing track has a capacity to house over 50,000 spectators. The circuit has been given a 3-Star Level Qualification by FIA, the World Motorsport Governing Body.

Ferrari happy at the announcement of Mugello’s F1 debut

Mattia Binotto, the Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal had this to say on the announcement. “To be able to celebrate an extraordinary anniversary like the 1000th GP for Ferrari at our own home at Mugello is an incredible opportunity.

“Mugello is not just one of the most spectacular and challenging tracks for drivers and cars, it is also a structure that has made sustainability one of its priorities.”

Paolo Poli, CEO of the Mugello Circuit, also expressed happiness on the news.  “We are happy and proud to have finally achieved a goal that we have been chasing for a long time with the utmost determination. 106 years since the very first race took place on the street circuit, Mugello will host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix.”
