Neither Pressure, nor Max Verstappen – Sergio Perez Names His Biggest Problem at Red Bull

Sergio Perez has recently been in the spotlight for his back-to-back errors in the Red Bull car. Perez, who started the season as the championship protagonist, is now at risk of losing his seat. And now, the Mexican driver revealed the reason for his gradual downfall.

Despite having the mighty RB-19 underneath him, the Mexican driver has failed to take advantage of it. A season that he started at par with the defending champion Max Verstappen, is now out of the contention.

Furthermore, Perez is also at risk of losing his P2 to Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton as the veteran duo is arriving at him aggressively with just 9 and 24 points behind.

Amidst this, some fans want Daniel Ricciardo to have a chance in the RB-19. Since the 33-year-old is having an off time lately, giving the seat to Ricciardo makes sense to them.

Sergio Perez revealed what caused the dip in his performance

There have been speculations regarding the cause of Perez’s downfall. While some claim it is the pressure at Red Bull, many assume it might be because of the competition shown by his teammate.

Perez, denying all of them, revealed as per a report by Next Gen Auto, “I have problems with the braking. I have to work with the team to find out what’s going on.”

Nevertheless, the former Racing Point driver wants to come back from this low point of his career and be back right at the top.

Speaking of this, he further added, “Mentally, I feel strong. I’m not in a tunnel of negativity or anything. I’m strong. I’ll be back.”

Verstappen unbothered by Perez’s problem

Red Bull is currently going through a wholly opposite scenario at the moment. While Verstappen earned them their 100th race win at the Canadian GP, on the other hand, Perez isn’t helping them to keep their 1-2 in the driver’s championship.

Meanwhile, Perez’s teammate and the two-time world champion, Max Verstappen, revealed that he isn’t aware of what problem Sergio Perez is facing and isn’t bothered about it.

Speaking about this when asked if he was better and had a big difference in his performance to Perez’s, he said as per The Express UK. that it’s not his thing to look at it.

But you have to ask them. I was busy trying to get the car in better shape and at a time like this, it’s definitely not something you think about,” asserted the defending champion.
