Nico Rosberg raised more than $100,000 for his charity to help Ukrainian kids and gifted his original race-worn Williams F1 helmet to a fan.
Rosberg had worn the helmet when he raced for the Williams F1 team between the 2005-2009 seasons. The 2016 world champion also uploaded a video of him giving away the helmet to a fan.
While gifting the helmet, Rosberg explained the equipment attached to the helmet including the water tube and the radio transmission wire.
He also joked about how a driver can disconnect the radio wire when he gets too annoyed by the team’s orders to let their teammates pass.
To which, the fan replied that probably Kimi Raikkonen used to do it.

The charity focuses on aiding children in need in Germany, especially those who have fled Ukraine during the war.
It aims at helping children with daily routine, and psychological support by creating a child-friendly environment for playing and learning.
Rosberg announced the giveaway in August 2022. Aside from the helmet, there were several other memorabilia that he was offering. These included signed photo prints of the night of the championship win in 2016 that have never been published before.
Rosberg lauds F1 rule change
The new rules in F1 in the 2022 season aimed at bringing the cars closer to each other leading to more overtakes.
Rosberg said that the rule was able to achieve that feat as there were many more overtakes in the 2022 season than there were in 2021.
Speaking on his YouTube channel he said while there was one guy who dominated the season, it didn’t really make the championship boring.
The all-new car concept in F1 was overseen by Ross Brawn, F1’s Managing Director. Rosberg lauded Brawn and his team for being able to achieve the target of changing the rules.
