Sergio Perez to Red Bull: Racing Point driver ready to challenge Red Bull doyen for 2021 seat

Sergio Perez to Red Bull: Racing Point driver ready to challenge Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in Championship if he joins Red Bull.

Sergio Perez is linked with several teams as his exit from Racing Point (Aston Martin in 2021) looks certain as links with Sebastian Vettel gaining weight in the market.

Amidst all the rumors, Perez has also been linked with Red Bull and according to Cezary Gutowski, Mexican International is prepared to challenged Max Verstappen on track if it happens.

“Perez said he wouldn’t be afraid of competing alongside Verstappen – when asked about the Red Bull option. And I have the impression that he is actually seriously considering such an option.” Gutowski reported.

Verstappen is deemed to be the future Championship winner, and his current performances advocate his talent, whereas Perez even though a talented driver will have to accept the secondary role to the youngster if he arrives at Red Bull.

Nevertheless, the duo of Perez and Verstappen on paper seems to be promising with the correct amount of experience, aggression, and talent withing the two racers.

Sergio Perez to Red Bull: Is it possible?

Even with the financial backing from his sponsors in Mexico, Perez’s chances in Red Bull seems to be low, first of all, the Austrian side doesn’t seem to be in need of extra cash.

Meanwhile, Red Bull has also claimed that in 2021 it will land with the same lineup of 2020 and Alex Albon has so far been decent with his performances.

The English driver would have had a better record if his luck granted him the 2 podiums he was about to win but got his car crashed on the circuit.

If not Red Bull, Perez’s career in Formula 1 is still kind of secure, as the lower-tier teams will surely come for him, but surely, it will be a downgrade from his current career position.

Now, it remains to be seen what happens further, as Lawrence Stroll has the option of triggering Perez’s release clause till 31st July.
