Angela Cullen and Lewis Hamilton parted ways earlier this year, bringing their seven-year partnership to a close. Both Hamilton and Cullen insisted that they would remain close to each other, and after Cullen’s recent message on Instagram, it seems likely that they will.
Ahead of the Azerbaijan GP this Sunday, where Hamilton will start from P5, Cullen took to her Instagram to write a message of good luck to Hamilton. It was a heartfelt post, where she asks her close friend Hamilton to ignore the external noise and pressure, and believe in himself.

‘The challenge is to be in the present moment,’ she writes. ‘Where nothing else exists, focus and find the quiet. This is where you will find your answers. This is where the magic happens, this is where dreams come true.’
In the comments section, fans were awed to see Cullen support her former employer Hamilton so closely, even though they formally parted ways from F1.
Lewis Hamilton and Angela Cullen’s close friendship
Cullen first became Hamilton’s physiotherapist in 2016 and developed a very close friendship. This transcended into her becoming Hamilton’s personal assistant, helping him with his requirements ahead of every single race weekend.
Cullen became a familiar figure in the Mercedes garage, and the bond she had with Hamilton seemed to be inseparable. Earlier this season, however, Hamilton announced that they would be splitting up, because they were looking for different things in life. During their surprise split up, Hamilton reminded fans that they would continue to be close friends away from F1.

“We’re still great friends, and we still talk every day,” he said as quoted by Freshers Live. “We’ve just decided to go our separate ways in terms of work.”
Hamilton eyeing podium finish in Baku
Qualifying on Friday for the Azerbaijan GP was a difficult session for the Mercedes team. While Hamilton just about managed to get into Q3, his teammate George Russell, who started the previous round from the front row, couldn’t make the cut.
Russell will start the race from P11, and will rely on a strong W14 to help him with his potential charge up the field. Hamilton, meanwhile, starts the race from P5, just behind Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz who himself is struggling with pace this weekend.

Hamilton will be hoping to follow up on his impressive P2 finish in Melbourne with a similarly strong performance in Baku as he eyes a podium finish on the Caspian shores.
