Even though Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz are no longer teammates, they still continue to share an incredible friendship. The two have often been seen mocking each other and playing hilarious pranks. It is this level of friendship that has also made them a fan favorite.
Norris and Sainz are so famous among the fans that their supporters have famously given them the name, Carlando. Other than racing, one activity that the two quite enjoy is golf. Whenever they get a break from their busy F1 schedule, they’ve often been seen hanging out on the golf course.
Norris has recently revealed about how the two also had a plan to play golf after the Monaco Grand Prix but that Sainz was busy. He then hilariously explained about how he had lost some of the love of the Spanish fans since the Ferrari driver was no longer his teammate.
“It is Carlos“: Lando Norris reluctantly admits Sainz is better at golf
While speaking in a recent interaction ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix, Lando Norris explained how he had plans of playing golf with Carlos Sainz but he could not play as the 28-year-old was ‘busy‘. When Norris was asked who is better between the two, several fans immediately shouted Carlos. On hearing the same, the Briton almost reluctantly replied, “Yeah it is Carlos. Sadly“.

In the same interaction, Norris also hilariously explained how he had lost some of the love of the Spanish fans. He said, “I always love coming here, mainly when I was Carlos’ teammate a few years ago. Then I felt very much a part of the Spanish fans“. When the crowd was asked if they still loved Norris, most of them shouted, “Yes“.
Norris and Sainz continue to be great friends despite splitting as teammates
Carlos Sainz was Lando Norris’ teammate at McLaren for two seasons, following which he left the team to join Ferrari in 2021. Ever since the Spaniard has move to Ferrari, he believes that his friendship has become even better with Norris.
Speaking of the same in an interview in September last year, Sainz said (as quoted by express.co.uk), “I feel like my relationship with Lando has improved since we stopped being teammates“. Sainz added that while they got along well even when they were teammates, he believes there was still more of a rivalry.
This is because both always had the urge of beating each year. And when it comes to now, the 28-year-old believes that they can speak more openly ‘about racing and feelings‘.
