"We need to find him" - Sergio Perez eager to see Cyril Abiteboul complete Daniel Ricciardo tattoo bet

“We need to find him” – Sergio Perez eager to see former Renault boss Cyril Abiteboul complete Daniel Ricciardo tattoo bet.

Sergio Perez was hosted by Tom Clarkson on his podcast ‘Beyond the Grid’. He answered several questions, but had one for Clarkson: “Did Cyril get his tattoo?”

“Because he is gone now, we need to find him. The F1 community should do something on that and bring Cyril back.”

Cyril Abiteboul lost the bet to Daniel Ricciardo last season after the latter secured his first-ever Renault podium. Since then, Abitetoul has left the group, and Ricciardo has jumped ship to McLaren. But the Aussie is intent on ensuring the dare is completed.

“You will definitely know when I get done with Cyril. Unfortunately, it hasn’t happened yet. But it will, it will. And we certainly left on the terms that there was still some unfinished business, that business being the tattoo. I hope it does happen. Obviously sooner rather than later, but it definitely will.”

Perez was asked by Clarkson if he has a similar bet with his Red Bull boss Christian Horner. The Mexican replied in the negative but suggested something might come up.

“No, we haven’t got into it. I think we are going to do something at some point.”

Ricciardo, on the other hand, confirmed to Autosport that McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown has declined the tattoo bet. Instead, the Honey Badger has laid his preying eyes on the envious collection of cars Mr. Brown calls it his own.

“We were just only a couple hours ago having some lunch with Zak and he mentioned something about him hating needles. So I can’t see the tattoo thing happening with Zak. But we’ll think of something else. I know he’s got a pretty good car collection so maybe we could just bet for one of his cars or something!”
