After reports of Barca’s interest in Segrej Milinkovic-Savic, French outlet claims Barca wants the Chelsea midfielder.

Barcelona received a setback when Antoine Griezmann announced that he will be staying at Atletico Madrid earlier this month. Ever since, the club has increased their activity in the transfer market. Barcelona have been linked with players like Christian Eriksen and Hirving Lozano.

However, Barcelona are also avidly looking for a midfielder to fill the void created by Andres Iniesta in the centre of the pitch. Mundo Deportivo earlier claimed that the Catalan giants are pursuing Lazio’s Segrej Milinkovic-Savic. And now, according to reports from France, Barca are considering a bid for Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.

Le Parisien claims that Barcelona are interested in the midfielder, and have even offered his family a free pass to attend Barca’s games at Camp Nou in a bid to sign him.

Kante has been central to Chelsea’s success ever since his arrival at the club in 2016. He signed for Chelsea from Leicester City, where he played a major role in an incredible Premier League campaign.

He played a crucial role in his first season for Chelsea as well, where his skills as a defensive midfielder were central to Chelsea’s success in the Premier League. The Chelsea star was named PFA Player of the Year in the 2016-17 season.

However, Barcelona plays a stiff competition for the signature of the player, as Le Parisien reports that Barca’s arch-rivals, Real Madrid are also in the race to sign the midfielder. Paris Saint Germain is also targeting the midfielder.

N’Golo Kante is currently representing France at the World Cup. The team has already qualified for the round-of-16, and will play their final game of the group stage today against Denmark.
