FIFA Men's Player of the year 2019: Who wins the FIFA Men's Player of the Year?

FIFA Men’s Player of the Year 2019: Lionel Messi wins the UEFA Men’s player of the year.

It was a fight between Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Virgil Van Dijk. The Liverpool defender lifted the UEFA Men’s Player of the year, but he has failed to claim this award, which is recognised globally.

Barcelona Skipper Lionel Messi has won this award by beating that duo, who came close to the securing it too.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the second-best scorer in the Serie A last season. He helped his side win the league title with the Old Lady and lifted the Nations League with Portugal. He was pivotal to his club and country success.

Virgil Van Dijk is the other candidate. He has been reaping rewards over the last year for his defensive displays with Liverpool and the Netherlands. The 28-year-old is fundamental to his club and country’s success – lifting the Champions League and reaching the finals of the UEFA Nations League.

Lionel Messi had an incredible season. He was the highest scorer in the top five European leagues and scored 44 goals in all competitions last campaign. The Argentine won the La Liga title with Barcelona, and reached the semifinal of the Champions League. He even scored twice in the first leg before facing humiliation in the second leg.

It came down to Virgil Van Dijk and Lionel Messi. It’s not far-fetched to divulge that both deserved to win this award and Lionel Messi is rightfully won the race. The Dutch International also deserved it, but he’s just unlucky.
