Force India are going through tumultuous times, one that could see them bow out of F1 altogether or be saved by someone who is ready to take up that risk.

Reports in AutoBild, a few days back suggested that Lawrence Stroll had bought Force India and would be bringing his son to race for the team with Esteban Ocon headed to Renault.

However, such takeovers take a lot of time, with all the paperwork that goes around it.

Hence, no official announcement has been made as of now, but Toto Wolff and Szafnauer(the COO of Force India) have confirmed that Force India are in court today, working on what the future holds for the F1 team, as reported by Will Buxton.

“Both Wolff and Szafnauer confirm Force India is in court today, as we speak. Exact reason (administration / winding up) could not be given at the time. Szafnauer convinced whatever the outcome, result will be positive for the team and concluded in 2 weeks.” Will Buxton tweeted.

None of the current owners/promoters of Force India have the required money or resources to take the team forward and hence they are looking for someone to buy them out as they register for controlled bankruptcy.

The staff should remain in place if and when someone(read Lawrence Stroll) buys Force India, as confirmed by Szafnauer. He tried to appease the staff with a confirmation that they won’t be losing their jobs.

“Szafnauer maintained that Force India’s greatest asset is its staff, none of whom should worry for their jobs.” Buxton tweeted.
