The player will be given a sure-shot item after pulling for that item many times without success. This system also acts as a way to keep all the loyal players engaged in the game, reducing frustration.

What is the Honkai Star Rail Pity system?

The Pity system can help players increase their chances of getting 5-star characters from the Warps. It also increases the chances of getting Light Cones. Understanding the pull rates of the Pity system will help players achieve their maximum goal, and not leave them frustrated.

Players need to, first of all, understand all the types of Pity available throughout Honkai Star Rail and choose which one they want to invest in. The next section will help players understand the types of Pity in Honkai Star Rail.

Types of Pity

In the game, four types of Pity help players pull out various elements from the game. Players usually look out for a better pull-out rate in the Standard Pity, also known as the banner of the game to get as much from the game as they can.

All the other kinds of Pity are explained below:

Standard

The Standard Warp is the game’s permanent banner, and it is very close to the Character Event Warp. How it works is that players get either a 4-star and the odds of getting a 5-star increases astronomically for every ten pulls a player has.

The initial odds of pulling a 5-star character was around 0.6%, which would now increase to 100% when pulled 75 and 90 times.

Beginner Warp pity

The Beginner Warp or the Departure Warp is like the players’ introduction to the game. Interestingly, the Beginner Warp doesn’t expire after players have learned a bit about the game, but will not be available after a player’s 50th pull on it. This is the only limit on the Pity, and the duration a player has spent in the game doesn’t impact it.

The Departure Warp has a lot of 4-star characters and Light Cones along with 5-star characters from the otherwise available pool. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have any 5-star Light Cones.

Light Cone Event Warp pity

Now, this is one Pity that has an amazing drop rate when compared to the character Pity. The Light Cones Event Warp Pity gives the players an amazing chance to get their hands on the latest weapon banners.

Players will be astonished to know that the drop rate of the 5-star Light Cones during the event is at 0.8%, indicating that a 5-star weapon is guaranteed after 80 pulls. However, the 4-star Light Cones will only be available after 10 pulls. The increased odds from 50/50 to 75/25 make this a much more satisfying pull for the players.

Character Event Warp pity

The bare minimum chance of getting a 5-star character in the Character Event Warp is 0.6%, indicating that players will have to have a lot of pulls before they get a 5-star character.

However, players need to understand that the chance of getting the character increases each time, ensuring that players who have invested time and effort in the game are eventually rewarded for their loyalty.

The Soft Pity in the game is known for getting accumulated over time, and by the time the players have reached their 90th pull, the odds of getting the character increase to 100%.

To narrow it down: Pity ensures that the players get the desired characters and the Soft Pity ensures that the characters are received much sooner than the usual time.

Does the Pity counter get carried over for banners?

Yes, the Pity gets carried over between banners of the same type, but not between banners that are of varied kinds in Honkai Star Rail.

The Pity that players have accumulated from the last banner could be retained and used in the next Character Event Warp. For instance, if players can pull 80 times on a banner, but aren’t able to pull a character, there is an almost 100% chance that players will be able to get the 5-star character in the next pull from the 5-star banner.

However, players have to keep in mind that the Weapon Event Warp banner doesn’t collect Pity that can be used in, Character Event Warp. Additionally, the Standard Warp also collects Pity for itself and the collected pity can’t be used for any of the Event banners.

What are the pull rates in Honkai Star Rail?

The drop rates for various banners and events can be very confusing. The table given below gives a breakdown of all the banners, and events along with their drop rates:
