How to get Curtis' Garage Key in Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2 is out now, and players are bounding through HELL-A. After a decade of delays and shifts in developers, the game is finally out on last-gen and current-gen hardware. The zombie action RPG received generally favorable reviews despite its troubled development and limited co-op functionality. However, during players’ journeys, the obstacle of finding Curtis’ Garage Key is proving troublesome. Here’s how to get through the garage.

Steps to get Curtis’ Garage Key in Dead Island 2

Before players can get to Curtis’ garage, the “Bel-Air Brawl” main quest must be completed.

Unlike what the objective dictates, the garage key isn’t required to get into the garage.

  • Players will first have to navigate around to the side with the shutters
  • Over here, a button to raise the shutters will be present in the center
  • Hold the button until the door is opened
  • Once opened, a few zombies will spill out that you must deal with
  • After this, look for the boxes labeled ‘fragile’ and destroy them
  • This will reveal a narrow passage at the back of the room
  • Crawl through the passage to get into the garage
  • The key will be present on the Workbench in the room
  • Make sure to loot the Reinforced perk while in this room
  • Once acquired, use the key to exit via the gate to the side

Denuvo confirmed in Dead Island 2 PC port

As confirmed by DSOGaming, the PC port of the game has been shipped with Denuvo. The controversial anti-tamper tech has been criticized for poor performance, and for limiting benchmarkers with its 5-system-a-day limit. The presence of Denuvo was confirmed with DSOGaming was locked out of the game after 5 activations by switching hardware. The PC port of the game is also an Epic Games Store exclusive, skipping Steam for now. It is currently unknown if this exclusivity deal is timed, or not.
