New PAYDAY 3 teaser hints at gameplay reveal in summer

A brand new teaser for PAYDAY 3 has just dropped, breaking the trend of modern teasers. Instead of a vague, cryptic message that gets fans to speculate, it has a very simple message “Gameplay. This summer. Don’t miss out.” With the last PAYDAY title released over a decade ago, fans of the four-person co-op shooter are chomping at the bit for new information. Thankfully, the new Steam listing for the game drops a few details.

PAYDAY 3 Steam listing goes live alongside new trailer

The Steam listing for PAYDAY 3 drops a few details on what to expect:

“Step out of retirement back into the life of crime in the shoes of the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers and the nightmare of law-enforcement wherever they go. Several years after the crew’s reign of terror over Washington DC has ended, they assemble once again to deal with the threat that roused them out of early retirement.”

Sticking to the formula of crews pulling off heists, the developers promise “a high-octane, co-op FPS experience without equal.” Despite being announced in 2017, the sequel would hit a few bumps in the road as its developer went through hard times. Developer Starbreeze Studios filed for reconstruction to avoid bankruptcy soon after. What followed was carnage, with the CEO being ousted, publishing rights being sold, and even entire studios being auctioned off to other publishers.

With the studio on the rebuild, PAYDAY 3 might just be their ticket out of the doldrums. The studio’s latest earnings report also states that the marketing campaign for the game will be in full swing ahead of its launch this year. A simultaneous launch for PC and consoles is planned with future DLC mapped out. Users can currently wishlist the game on Steam to get direct updates from the digital storefront.
