The Welsh star made it clear that he wants more playing time at Real Madrid.

Gareth Bale disclosed his frustration at spending most of his time on the bench at Real Madrid. After the Champions League final, he talked about the need to play more at the club, and even suggested leaving Real Madrid if he isn’t guaranteed more playing time.

Bale scored a brace in the Champions League final after coming on as a substitute.

Ever since his announcement, Bale has been linked with summer move to major European football clubs, specifically Manchester United.

However, his agent Jonathan Barnett, who is an Arsenal fan, recently spoke about his possibility to move to Arsenal. Gareth Bale played for Arsenal’s derby rivals Tottenham Hotspur, before moving to Real Madrid.

“He loves his life in Spain. He has three children, and he’s very happy there. But we have to see,” Barnett told Sky Sports.

“He has to play football. (As an Arsenal fan) I’d love him to play there but it’s got as much chance as me going to the moon,” said his agent.

Barnett then confirmed that Gareth Bale is interested in talks with Real Madrid.

I think we have to have a chat with Real Madrid and see where we’re going,” he said. “He wants a better year than he had last year. He wants to play more, and that’s paramount to him. I think he’s one of the top three or four players on earth. For somebody like him, he has to play. It’s not about money,” Barnett clarified.

Barnett insisted that Gareth Bale wants to be the best in the world. “He wants to win the Ballon d’Or and I think he can. I think he’s the best there has ever been in that sense (a British player abroad), unless someone can name me someone who’s been more successful,” he said.
