Gary Neville’s tweet after Liverpool’s shock loss to Watford goes viral. The loss bought the Reds unbeaten streak to an end.

Liverpool have displayed utter domination in the Premier League this season. It is this very run that has all but confirmed that they will lift their maiden Premier League title this season. However, their hopes of ending the season unbeaten came to an end with a 3-0 loss vs Watford on Saturday night.

The Reds had gone 27 games unbeaten and had picked 26 wins off it. Despite losing to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League recently, they were expected to breeze past relegation battlers Watford. Instead, it was the Hornets who ran circles around them.

Social media suffered a meltdown after the loss with rival fans celebrating as if Watford were their own. One of the several fans who celebrated Liverpool’s misery was Manchester United legend Gary Neville, who made no attempts to hide his happiness.

The tweet has since gone viral, amassing over 10,000 retweets and 40,000 ‘likes’ within the first 20 minutes itself!

Earlier in the game, Neville tweeted a video in which he says:

“Just got to London. They’re bottling it again!”

Clearly an attempt to rile former Liverpool player and now sky sports colleague Jamie Carragher, the ex-defender refused to take the bait. He did although, make a still from Neville’s video his new profile picture on twitter.

It was not just fans and ex-players having fun at Liverpool’s expense. Even Watford and Arsenal got into a little bit of fun following the surprising result.
