The opener of the 11th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) turned out to be a nail-biting thriller of a game.

The game between the two heavy teams Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) was full of emotions. But in the game MI’s all-rounder, Hardik Pandya suffered an injury which leaves his participation in the upcoming matches doubtful.

The list of injuries is increasing day by day in the tournament. Earlier, likes of Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Santner, Kedar Jadhav, and Pat Cummins have already been ruled out of the tournament.

Hardik Pandya injured himself in the opener game against CSK. The all-rounder had twisted his ankle while batting and looked to be in discomfort while bowling and fielding.

Despite the injury, he played an important role in the game. He picked two crucial wickets without leaking many runs.

His efforts went in vain however, as CSK won the match with the help of Dwayne Bravo’s brilliant knock.

MI is scheduled to play their next game on 12th April against Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. However, MI’s skipper Rohit Sharma had stated that Hardik will be available for the game against SRH.

But the all-rounder skipped the practice session on the eve of the game which raises doubts about his participation in the game.

The Delhi all-rounder Pradeep Sangwan is likely to play if Hardik couldn’t. Pradeep was bought by the franchise for an amount of Rs 1.50 Crore.

After showing a lot of promise a decade ago, Pradeep Sangwan has disappeared under the radar. But he has displayed a new found level of consistency recently, and has performed really well for Delhi.

Delhi went on to clinch Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title under Sangwan and he can hit sixes like Pandya and bowl some economical overs. In fact, he also opens the bowling for Delhi.

Earlier, Jason Behrendorf ruled out of the league due to the back issue but he replaced by Mitchell McClenaghan. Meanwhile, MI suffered another blow when Pat Cummins was ruled out of the tournament. The franchise is yet to name a replacement for him.
