The 3rd T20I between India and England started with the fireworks of Jason Roy and Jos Buttler and ended with the explosive batting of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.
After Dhawan and Rahul were dismissed early, Kohli and Sharma stitched a class partnership to steady things. By the time Kohli was dismissed India were on the doorsteps of a win. But it was Pandya who took India home with a winning six.
After the match, Pandya said in the press conference, “See this T20 format, it’s a funny game. You need to back yourself and come and bowl your best balls. I still remember after getting hit for 22, I was still normal. My elder brother Krunal asked me… ‘It’s okay, you’re going to do it’ and I told him ‘yeah the game is like that.

“In shorter formats, when I bowl I think as a batsman. Generally when I bowl, apparently batsmen are going hard in this format. So I try to think as a batsman and I try to outplay them.”
A couple of days back, Hardik had given MSD a haircut on his birthday. Now, it was time for something substantial as Pandya dedicated the series win to Mahi. He said, “This series is a birthday gift for him (Dhoni). Although I gave him a different birthday gift (haircut) earlier but yes, this is a gift for him.”
