Hardik Pandya replies to BCCI's show cause notice

Hardik Pandya replies to BCCI’s show cause notice: The Indian all-rounder said that he was ‘sincerely regretful’ for his recent comments.

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has replied to BCCI’s show cause notice which was issued to him in the morning for his disrespectful remarks on women during his appearance on renowned talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’.

Pandya and opening batsman Lokesh Rahul had recently appeared on the talk show but things went wrong for them as some of their statements were highly misogynistic and sexist.

While the furore on social media against Pandya had started since yesterday, BCCI’s show cause notice came today morning after they didn’t accept his apology on social media platform Twitter.

“I made an appearance on the chat show where I have made certain statements without realising that these could be disrespectful and offend sensitivities of viewers for which I am sincerely regretful,” Pandya wrote in his response according to PTI.

Through the medium of his response, Pandya assured everyone that there was no ‘ill-intent’ on his part and the statements were made in the flow of the show.

“I would like to assure you that there was no malice or any sort of ill-intent on my part to offend anyone or portray any section of the society in bad light. I made these statements in the flow of the show and had not comprehended the extent to which my statements would be found offensive,” he added.

The cricketer also mentioned that he will never repeat anything of this sort in the future. “Rest assured I hold the BCCI in highest regard and will exercise complete discretion and prudence to ensure that such incidents are never repeated in future,” he concluded.

Pandya’s next international assignment is a few days away as India will take on Australia in the first ODI at Sydney.
