Hardik Pandya rested for Sri Lanka Tests

India’s dependent utility stock all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been rested for the upcoming three-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

Hardik Pandya was already named in the Test squad for the first two Tests against Sri Lanka but BCCI made it clear that he is rested.

BCCI told in a statement that Hardik Pandya is rested due to weight on his shoulders as he has been playing relentless cricket.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee in consultation with the Indian team management has decided to rest all-rounder Hardik Pandya for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka,” the BCCI statement marked.

Hardik Pandya is expected to undergo a fitness strength training at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore as soon as possible.

“Considering Pandya’s heavy recent workload, the decision was made to negate any possibility of a major injury concern.

Pandya will undergo a period of strength at conditioning at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru,” the statement added.

The first of the three-match Test series is scheduled to be played at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata from November 16-19.

Murali Vijay’s return to the side is a positive news. Both Ravi’s will be looking forward to cash in on the situations in the games to come.

Rohit Sharma who was out of the Test squad for quite a while has been named in the squad. Ishant Sharma’s arrival will be interesting.

Virat Kohli (Icon), KL Rahul, M Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (Vice-Captain), Rohit Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha (WK), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma.
