Hardik Pandya score today: Mumbai Indians all-rounder scores another hundred in DY Patil T20 tournament, scoring 158* of 55 balls

Hardik Pandya has been in terrific form in the ongoing DY Patil T20 tournament, scoring a 37 ball hundred in his comeback game in the first game of the tournament and now scoring another hundred, this one of 39 balls.

But this time, Hardik Pandya went a notch higher, piling up a score of 158* in 55 balls, which incidentally is also the highest score by an Indian batsman in T20s.

The Indian all-rounder is playing for Reliance 1 in the DY Patil T20 tournament and is showcasing why he is one of the most destructive batsmen in world cricket.

In the innings of 158*, Pandya amassed 20 sixes and 6 fours, toying with the bowlers and scoring at will; a sign of things to come(hopefully) when he returns to the Indian T20 setup in this important World Cup year.

Check out the video of his innings:

Pandya had suffered an acute lower back injury last year, one that needed surgery and extensive rehabilitation, keeping him away from the International circuit for quite sometime.

While the Indian team has done extremely well in T20s in his absence, the kind of balance that Hardik provides this Indian team in unparalleled, especially in Australian conditions, wherein a fast bowling all-rounder is a luxury for most captains.

Indian team’s next assignment

The Indian ODI team will take on the visiting South African team in a 3 ODI game series this month. BCCI are yet to announce the squad for the upcoming series, but seeing Hardik Pandya’s performance in the ongoing DY Patil T20 tournament, there should be no concerns over his match fitness.

The star all-rounder had also picked up a 5 wicket haul in the first game, suggesting that he is back to his best with the ball as well.

Do you think Hardik Pandya can lead India to the world T20 title in Australia?
