The Club’s start to the match however, was rather embarrassing. Record signing Harry Maguire was named Captain of the side ahead of the clash. However, the defender seemed to forget that there are responsibilities that come with wearing the armband.

Harry Maguire was not seen before the traditional coin toss before the start of the match. While referee Xavier Fernandez and Partizan Belgrade captain Vladmir Stojkovic waited for Harry Maguire, the Manchester United captain for the night had to be called by Fernadez’s assistants Roberto Alonso and Inigo Prieto.

The assistants were heard shouting “Maguire… Harry” before the world’s most expensive defender awkwardly ran over to complete his duties in an episode he would rather no one noticed.

Manchester United have looked much more convincing than they did in their last match in the Europa League. They have managed to keep the opposition from finding the net and have taken the lead in the match so far,

Anthony Martial’s 42nd minute goal from the spot have given them the all important goal as United look to gather 3 points on the road. At the time of writing, United have held on to their one goal lead after an hour into the match.

Maguire’s start to his career as United captain could very well start with a win. However, he may never forget about that coin toss.
