The seventh edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 is all set to commence from February 21 (Friday) in Australia. The first match will be played between defending champions and hosts Australia and India at the Sydney Showground Stadium in Sydney.
As far as the runners-up West Indies are concerned, they will take the field for the first time on the following day against Thailand in Perth.
The tournament will see 10 teams being divided into two groups of five teams each. After playing four league matches in their respective groups, the top two teams from both the groups will contest in the semi-finals and the final which will be played on March 8 in Melbourne.
Group A – Australia, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh.
Group B – England, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, Thailand.
