Finally, the day has arrived when the Road Safety World Series will kick off tomorrow with the Indian Legends locking horns against the West Indies legend. The tournament will be one of a kind especially given the fact that we will be witnessing some of the finest cricketers from the yesteryears. The star attraction of the match will be none other than Sachin Tendulkar who will be leading the India Legends. A touch of nostalgia is bound to creep in when the fans will see Tendulkar and Sehwag coming out to open the innings.
The likes of Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan will also roll back the years. Brian Lara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul will be the star attractions from West Indies. The tournament has been organized to aware people about road safety. Hence the results of the tournament won’t be of utmost importance. However, the legends of the game will look to come out all guns blazing and relive the glory days of their careers.
Pitch Conditions and Toss
The surface at the Wankhede Stadium has always produced belters for batsmen and it shouldn’t be any different in the first day of the Road Safety Series. However, we shouldn’t expect the former players to turn up the way the current players do. Hence we could only know the conditions after the first match is played.

Dream XI Wicket-keepers
Ridley Jacobs will be the wicket-keeper of our dream XI team. He was a fine batsman during his heydays and was also a brilliant wicket-keeper. The southpaw will definitely love to get some runs under his belt.
Dream XI Batsmen
Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Mohammad Kaif will be the three Indian batsmen in our dream XI team. The first two names don’t need an introduction. Tendulkar will look to turn the clock and enthral his home crowd to some electrifying strokeplay. Given his competitive nature, he will definitely look to lead from the front.
Virender Sehwag is one such player who can murder any top-class bowler of perhaps every generation. He was one of the finest strikers of the ball during his prime and will look to turn the clock just like his opening partner Tendulkar.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Kaif was also an integral part of the Indian limited-overs set up under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly. His heroic knock in the 2002 Natwest Trophy final is still etched in every cricket lover’s memory. He will look to get some runs under his belt.
Dream XI All-rounders
Irfan Pathan and Sanjay Bangar will be the two ll-rounders in the dream XI team. Pathan was a prolific all-rounder during his heydays and like most other players, he will also look to turn back the clock. He was a fantastic bowler and backed it up with some impressive batting in the lower order.
Meanwhile Sanjay Bangar, the former India batting coach was not a big name during his international career. However, in the limited opportunities, he performed well for India in Tests and ODI’s.
Dream XI Bowlers
Zaheer Khan, Adam Sanford and Samuel Badree will be the three bowlers in our dream XI team. Zaheer is still regarded as one of the finest pacers India has produced. The left-arm pacer was lethal during his heydays.
Adam Sanford and Samuel Badree were both good bowlers for West Indies. Badree, in particular, is a modern-day bowler who has bamboozled quite a few batsmen during his prime. Hence he will be a big threat to India if they are to score big.
Captain and Vice-captain
Sachin Tendulkar will be the captain while Virender Sehwag will be the vice-captain of the day.
