IND vs BAN T20 squad 2019: The Indian selection committee has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh.

Indian selection committee has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. The selectors have made four changes to the squad which had played the home series against South Africa last month.

While captain Virat Kohli has been rested, all-rounder Hardik Pandya is missing from the squad due to his recent surgery. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Navdeep Saini don’t find a place in the squad primarily because of the selectors wanting to test other players before the ICC T20 World Cup 2019.

Limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma will lead the team in Kohli’s absence. In 15 T20Is as captain, Sharma has scored 556 runs at an average of 39.71 and a strike rate of 158.85 including two centuries and three half-centuries.

Uncapped Mumbai and Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Shivam Dube and Kerala and Rajasthan Royals wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson have been included in the squad. While it is a maiden call-up for Dube, Samson had made his T20I against Zimbabwe in 2015.

The duo has been rewarded for their recent performances in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Dube, who bats in the lower middle-order, had scored 33* (13) against Goa and followed it with maiden List A century vs Karnataka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Coming in to bat at No. 6 in a 313-run chase, Dube had scored 118 (67) with the help of seven fours and 10 sixes.

In the eight matches that Samson played in the tournament, he scored 410 runs at an average of 58.57 and a strike rate of 125 including a maiden List A double century and a half-century.
