IND vs SA Dream11 Team Prediction: India will be looking to maintain their unbeaten record in the ICC World Test Championship.

The second Test of the ongoing South Africa’s tour of India will commence from tomorrow at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. With India 1-0 up in the series, another victory for them will see them registering an unassailable lead in the series.
On the other hand, South Africa would be looking to earn first points in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship. If they lose another Test, they will become the second team after West Indies to lose the first two matches of the tournament.
The visitors would also be wanting to take advantage of the fact that India’s only Test loss at home in the recent years had come in Pune. Bundling out India for a below par total will be South African bowlers’ priority in this match.

Pitch Report and Toss Prediction
It is worth mentioning that the venue has hosted only one Test till now. Given the uncertainty around the pitch at this point in time, it is difficult to say if it will witness another three-day finish.
When the pitch was uncovered before this Test, it is said to be a green-top. It is also said that the same won’t happen tomorrow morning. It is safe to assume that the surface will have something for everyone during the second Test of this series.
The only Test played at this venue saw Australia captain Steve Smith winning the toss and opting to bat first before registering a magnificent 333-run victory in 201.
IND vs WI Dream11 Wicket-keepers
Having scored his fifth Test century at a brisk rate in Visakhapatnam, South Africa wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock becomes an automatic pick in my Dream11 fantasy team for this match. In what was de Kock’s first Test in India, he didn’t give the impression of struggling unlike other overseas batsmen.
IND vs WI Dream11 Batsmen
Much like de Kock, another by default selection for this match is India opening batsman Rohit Sharma. Opening the batting for the first time in Tests, Sharma broke several records in the first Test. Don’t commit a blunder by leaving out the ‘Man of the Match‘ from the last match.
I have also included India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane in my team. Rahane might have scored 15 and 27* in the first Test but his overall record against the Proteas demands his inclusion. In eight Tests, Rahane has scored 574 runs at an average of 52.18 and a strike rate of 51.57 including two centuries and half-centuries each.
Another inclusion for including Rahane is that his numbers against South Africa are better than both Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. If you want to include the Indian skipper, you can bring him as South Africa captain Faf du Plessis’ replacement.
After being restricted to 63/4 in the first innings in Visakhapatnam, it was a 115-run partnership for the fifth wicket between opening batsman Dean Elgar and du Plessis which gave some stability to the visitors. Having included both the batsmen, I am expecting them to stitch more such partnerships in this match.

Much like the last Test, I have included both the Indian spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. The pair have a stellar record when it comes to playing Tests in India.
If India gets to bat first yet again, expect them to be among the wickets. A major advantage of having both of them in your team is their high prospects of contributing with the bat.
South Africa pacer Vernon Philander is my third all-rounder for this match. The reason behind picking him ahead of Kagiso Rabada is mentioned below.
IND vs WI Dream11 Bowlers
With Indian fast bowlers in Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami in my team, I have included all four specialist Indian bowlers. If India becomes successful in picking 20 opposition wickets, expect all the points from the same coming in your account.
South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj is my third bowler for this match. Having dismissed five Indian batsmen in the first match, Maharaj had impressed one and all. If Maharaj does what Steve O’Keefe had done for Australia in 2017, his inclusion is highly likely to work in your favour.
Noteworthy stats
1) 52, 79*, 111 and 0 have been South Africa wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock’s scores on this tour. The 26-year old cricketer has so far been consistent across formats.
2) In seven Tests against India, Vernon Philander has picked 30 wickets at an average of 20.53 and a strike rate of 49.8. In two Tests in India, Philander’s five wickets have come at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 73.2.
On the contrary, Kagiso Rabada has picked 18 wickets at an average of 29 and a strike rate of 63.4 in seven Tests against India. In four Tests in India, Rabada’s three wickets have come at an average and strike rate of 72.66 and 172 respectively.
