Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni don Nike’s new jersey: Nike has launched a new ODI jersey for the Indian cricket team.

Nike has launched a new jersey for both India’s Men and Women cricket teams ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The jersey was unveiled earlier in the evening and it will be worn by the players during the World Cup.

From the Men’s team, India captain Virat Kohli, wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, axed batsman Ajinkya Rahane and uncapped batsman Ajinkya Rahane were present at the occasion.

From the Women’s team, vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur and opening batswoman Jemimah Rodrigues were present at the occasion which was held in Hyderabad.

The Men’s team will begin their last international assignment before the World Cup tomorrow. In the five-match ODI series against Australia, the team management and the selectors will be looking to have a crystal clear picture of what their squad will look like for the World Cup.

“We need to have a solid team”

Earlier in the day, speaking to the reporters during the pre-series press conference, Kohli opened up on performances in the Indian Premier League not having an affect on the selections in the World Cup squad.

“No, I don’t see the IPL having any influence on World Cup selection. I think that will be very, very radical sort of analysis,” Kohli was quoted as saying.

“We need to have a solid team. Before we head into the IPL, we need to be absolutely clear of what team we want for the World Cup. I don’t see anything changing on how the IPL goes for any of the players.

“If one or two players do not have a good IPL season, it doesn’t mean that they are out of the picture for the World Cup. Those things are not going to matter,” Kohli said.
