“Inter already have a handshake with Wijnaldum”: Liverpool Midfielder Closing In On Serie A Switch

Reports have been emanating from Italy about the player’s impending arrival

Despite Jurgen Klopp repeatedly talking about his admiration for Georginio Wijnaldum and Liverpool offering the player a contract extension, the midfielder has set his heart on greener pastures.

Spurning all Liverpool advances, the player is set to depart the land of the Premier League come the end of his deal at the curtailment of this season. However, a new contender has emerged for his services, one set to trump Barcelona.

For long touted to make the move to Barcelona owing to Koeman’s eagerness to induct the player in his squad, Wijnaldum now looks set to partake in the Serie A. Inter Milan are said to have won the race for the player with both the parties having already agreed on most of the terms.

Wijnaldum Set To Spurn Barcelona For Inter Milan

Speaking to Sports Mediaset, journalist Claudio Raimond who is well versed with Italian football said: “It’s a low-profile and free agents market: Marotta therefore looks to Georginio Wijnaldum.”

Journalist Sandro Sabatini also added: “Inter already have a handshake with Wijnaldum, already from last year. Then they decided to do it on a free transfer.”

Inter News have also been constantly reporting about Antonio Conte’s particular affinity with the Liverpool midfielder. The outlet has gone onto claim that the Inter Milan manager is besotted with Wijnaldum and is said to be crazy about the player.

As per the platform, Inter Milan landing Wijnaldum on a free could persuade the club to give the midfielder the four year deal he’s said to be looking for. However, his weekly wages continue to remain a massive stumbling point with the colossal fees being something the club is unwilling to shell out.

Barcelona and PSG have both also been persistently linked to the player with the two clubs set to be monitoring how things turn up for the player. While it remains to be seen where he ends up, Wijnaldum’s Liverpool career looks to have finally run its race.
