Kolkata Knight Riders have been dealt with yet another injury blow, as Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out of the IPL following a foot injury.

Karnataka bowler, Prasidh Krishna will now replace the India U-19 star.

According to reports in Cricbuzz, Nagarkoti had been carrying a niggle in his foot before the start of the IPL and Prasidh Krishna had been brought in as cover.

Krishna even featured in a couple of practice matches for KKR.

Krishna featured in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy for Karnataka and has also played 19 List A games, picking up an impressive 33 wickets in them.

Prasidh is a right arm, hit the deck fast bowler who can make an impression in the IPL if given a chance.

KKR fans though will be disappointed by this as after Nagrakoti’s brilliant performances in the U-19 World Cup, fans were hoping to see him replicate some of that brilliance at the Eden Gardens for KKR.

The KKR management would be hard hit by this as they had shelled out Rs 3.2 crore for the wonder kid.

Earlier, KKR had to also suffer the loss of Mitchell Starc’s services as he had been hit by an injury during the South Africa test series.

Tom Curran came in as a replacement and was slotted into the XI for the 2nd game, but he is not Mitch Starc.

With Vinay Kumar’s woeful performances in the 2 KKR games, it seemed as if Nagarkoti would be finally drafted in but we’ll now have to wait and see how the KKR think tank approach the situation before their crunch game against SRH tonight.
