Virat Kohli warns Indian players

Virat Kohli warns Indian players: The Indian captain was clear in his works when talking about his players being honest during IPL 2019.

The next five months are not going to be easy for the Indian cricketers. The regular members of the team are slated to play the home series against Australia, the Indian Premier League and ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 within a span from February 24 to July 14.

As much challenging as all of this sounds with respect to the oppositions, it will possess a larger challenge for players to not lose their form and fitness during this period of unrestrained activity.

While India captain Virat Kohli had earlier expressed his views regarding bowlers needing to manage their workload, former captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni had opined that bowling four overs won’t make them tired.

Kohli warns players regarding picking bad habit in IPL 2019

Addressing the media during the pre-series (against Australia) press conference at Visakhapatnam, Kohli was once again asked about how the players are looking two play two demanding tournaments back-to-back.

“They have to make sure that their games don’t go too much away from the one-day mould of things. That means we will have to be very wary of the bad habits that might creep in during the IPL,” Kohli answered the reporters.

The 30-year old cricketer highlighted that the above mentioned will require consistent efforts from all the players. Kohli also warned the players that bad habits have it in them to make you lose the momentum and form.

“That [not picking up bad habit] will take a consistent effort from all the players during the IPL to keep a check on that. The moment you enter the nets and create bad habits, you lose the momentum and you lose batting form. It is very difficult to get it back in a tournament like the World Cup,” Kohli was quoted as saying.

Kohli hopes for individual honesty

Laying emphasis on individual honesty, Kohli said that the players should not hesitating from missing some matches especially if their IPL team is in a great position. He hoped of the players’ participation in the T20 league not hampering the Indian team during the world event.

“If your team is in a great position during the tournament, you don’t mind taking 2-3 games off also. It all depends on how you feel physically but everyone has to be really honest about it to themselves and accordingly see how they feel and not push themselves to the limit that might hamper the Indian team later on,” Kohli added.
