IPL 2021 auction date: When and where will Indian Premier League 2021 mini-auction be held?

IPL 2021 auction date: The auction for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League will be held in Chennai next month.

The auction for the 14th season of the Indian Premier League will be held on February 18 in Chennai as the same has been confirmed via a tweet from the official handle of the tournament.

Contrary to the previous reports of auction happening on February 11, the same has been delayed by a week. As far as the venue for the auction is concerned, it wasn’t confirmed in the reports which had circulated earlier this month.

As per the original plan, IPL 2021 auction was meant to be a mega auction. However, the limited time period between IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 forced the decision-makers to postpone the mega auction by a year. Therefore, IPL 2021 auction will now be a mini-auction which will mostly see teams fine-tuning their squads.

It was exactly a week ago that all franchises submitted the list of their retained and released players ahead of IPL 2021 auction. At that time, February 4 was reported to be a deadline for the trading window. However, the same is yet to be confirmed with a change in the auction date.

With the date of the auction getting finalized now, expect a final list of players who will take part in the auction in the days to come.
