Jaydev Unadkat taunts Mushfiqur Rahim; appreciates Akbar Ali for not celebrating before winning U-19 World Cup vs India

Jaydev Unadkat taunts Mushfiqur Rahim: The Indian pacer took a sly dig at the former Bangladeshi captain and current wicket-keeper batsman.

During the final match of the recently concluded ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup between India and Bangladesh in Potchefstroom, Bangladesh defeated India by 3 wickets to lift their maiden World Cup across formats.

Chasing a 170-run target in 46 overs, Bangladesh sealed the chase in the 43rd over on the back of captain Akbar Ali retaining his composure to score 43* (77) with the help of four fours and a six.

Having registered bowling figures of 10-0-30-4, India spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the pick of their bowlers. Him often beating the Bangladeshi batsmen with his googlys had made him a game-changing prospect for India. However, Bishnoi not going past Ali’s defiance decided the outcome of the match.

While Ali was declared the ‘Man of the Match’ for his match-winning innings, India opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal was declared the ‘Man of the Tournament’ for scoring 400 runs in six matches at an average of 133.33 and a strike rate of 82.47 including a century and four half-centuries.

India pacer Jaydev Unadkat was among the bountiful illustrious personalities who congratulated Bangladesh on their triumph. Taking to his Twitter handle, Unadkat congratulated Bangladesh and praised Ali for not celebrating before wining like his “seniors”.

It is worth mentioning that former Bangladesh captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim had started celebrating before winning against India during the ICC World Twenty20 2016. A match-winning run-out from the then India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had turned the tables for India who won the match by 1 run.
