WWE superstar and one half of the Hardy Boyz, Jeff Hardy was arrested on Saturday night for driving while being intoxicated in North Caroline.
The star was arrested in Concord, North Carolina following a traffic crash. Hardy deviated from the road and went on to hit a guardrail. The hit caused the vehicle to spin out back into the road right in the middle of the lane.
Following this, the Concord police department arrived and arrested the tag team specialist. Hardy was released later that evening.
Following the incident, Hardy’s driving license has been suspended for 30 day with a court date fixed for the 16th of April.
The star already has two strikes on his contract due to previous violations of the Wellness policy. While a third violation generally results in the termination of the contract, Hardy might be safe since the violation counts for substances apart from “Marianas and Alcohol”.
Hardy has quite the past with substance abuse and also has the distinct record of wrestling under the influence during his time at the TNA after main eventing alongside the Sting under influence.
The other instances of the 40-year-old being involved in similar cases were firstly in 2008, where Hardy caused ruckus at the Nashville International Airport, In 2009, Hardy was arrested on the account of trafficking of drugs. Apart, from that, Hardy served jail time in 2011 for the same charges.
Hardy has just been cleared by the WWE to return back to the ring after being out of action for several months, following a rotator cuff injury.
