Jesse Lingard on Pogba

Jesse Lingard on Pogba: Paul Pogba has been involved in seven goals in three games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United are in fine form at the moment. Since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer as the new boss, the side is yet to drop points in the league.

United have scored 12 goals in three league games, which include a 5-1 routing of Cardiff City. It was the first time when the side scored five league goals since Sir Alex’s farewell match in 2013.

Paul Pogba has stepped up brilliantly under Solskjaer. The French midfielder has been involved in seven of the 12 goals scored, and bagged consecutive braces against Huddersfield and Bournemouth last week.

Jesse Lingard, who has played with Paul Pogba for Manchester United’s youth teams, has now spoken about the difference he sees in the Frenchman under the new manager.

Jesse Lingard on Pogba:

The English attacker has stated that he could ‘definitely’ see the Pogba he used to know during his youth days at Manchester United.

“I can definitely, definitely, see the Paul I used to know,” said Lingard in an interview, as he talked about Manchester United’s performances under Solskjaer.

“I have seen him playing through the ranks and he is back to that player, the player we know.”

Lingard insisted that Pogba is enjoying the style of football Manchester United are playing under the Norwegian manager. “Paul’s enjoying his football,” said Lingard.

“He’s playing in the role he likes to play in just inside, off the left. He has the freedom to make things happen. He has always got forward in that position and scored goals.”

It is no secret that Paul Pogba didn’t enjoy a healthy relationship with Jose Mourinho. The situation became worse after the duo was caught in an argument during a training session, a day after the side suffered a stunning defeat against Derby County.

Paul Pogba openly criticised Jose Mouriho’s tactics in a mixed-zone interview, urging the side to attack at Old Trafford.
