Kepa Arrizabalaga worst in Premier League, only better than 5 other keepers in Europe. The world record glovesman has been a disappointment for Chelsea this season.
Chelsea’s world record acquisition, Kepa Arrizabalaga, is having a horrid season between the sticks this season. The Spaniard has allowed 30 balls to find the back of the net this season from the 67 times he has seen one get hit on target.
In fact, the Chelsea shot stopper has a save percentage of a measly 55.4%! The lowest in the entirety of the Premier League among keepers who have played a minimum of 45 minutes. In fact, Kepa also fares very poorly among Europe’s top 7 leagues.

Kepa
£72m transfer fee (most expensive keeper in history)
£150k a week salary (highest paid player on Chelsea)
54% save rate (worst in the League)My advice to all teams facing Chelsea, just shoot. pic.twitter.com/Gav9vQ8B37

We don’t even face enough shots for his save ratio to be this low. Basically if you shot twice you’re guaranteed to score 1.

To think that the most expensive goalkeeper in the world is only better than 5 other glovesman among the top European leagues will be worrying for Chelsea.
For all the flak Chelsea’s defence get, the side have allowed the 2nd least shots on target, next only to Liverpool. Interestingly, both Liverpool and Chelsea have the same number of saves, suggesting that whenever the Blues allow the ball to reach Keppa, the keeper fluffs one in.
Last month, there were reports that Chelsea were looking to bring in a new goalkeeper. However, considering the amount of money they invested in the Spaniard, it is likely that the side will give the keeper a few more chances before throwing in the towel.
Will that cost the side who are looking to finish in the top this season however, remains to be seen.
