KL Rahul-James Neesham altercation: Watch KXIP players' face-off against each other in third ODI

KL Rahul-James Neesham altercation: The Indian wicket-keeper batsman and the Kiwi all-rounder were in disagreement with each other.

During the third ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of New Zealand in Mount Maunganui, India wicket-keeper batsman Lokesh Rahul and New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham were involved in a casual altercation.

It all happened after the last delivery of the 20th over of the Indian innings when Rahul hit a Neesham delivery to mid-on to run a quick single. In his attempt to provide back-up for the throw, Neesham was seen standing his ground away from the stumps.

Rahul, who was in a hurry to complete the run, had to run some extra distance around Neesham. It was due to the same reason that him and Neesham were seen speaking with each other after the delivery.

With Neesham being bought by Indian Premier League franchise Kings XI Punjab for IPL 2020, he will play under Rahul next month. Perhaps, the KXIP players were having a joke about playing together in the cash-rich league.

After New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and invited India in to bat, the visitors scored 296/7 in 50 overs on the back of Rahul scoring his fourth ODI century, 112 (113), including nine fours and two sixes. With bowling figures of 10-1-64-4, New Zealand pacer Hamish Bennett was the pick of their bowlers.
