Lakers: LeBron James releases emotional statement for Lakers fans regarding playoffs fiasco
When LeBron James signed on for the Lakers, the general consensus was that LeBron would bring back glory days to the city of LA. Ever since Kobe Bryant’s departure, LA was on the lookout for a new superstar, who they could rally around.
LeBron seemed like the perfect fit, as he still had it in him to carry teams all the way to the finals, something that he had proved with the Cavaliers.
The season started on a lukewarm note, with the hope of going into overdrive when the business end of the regular season arrives. A win against the Warriors on Christmas day seemed like the perfect gateway into the next gear for the highly talented Lakers roster, but an injury to LeBron in the same game meant that the Lakers were staring down the barrel.
The young roster wasn’t able to take on the mantle of playing without LeBron and just when you thought things could get back to being normal with the Lakers lynchpin, the Anthony Davis saga spoiled it all.
The Lakers young core felt alienated and it seemed like the team had become dysfunctional to some extent. They were then resigned to their fate and are currently preparing for the NBA draft.
LeBron James has had to carry the blame for the dismal season, as he hasn’t been a good teammate or a leader. On an individual level, the 3 time NBA champion hasn’t really set the stage on fire, but hasn’t gone missing too.
Criticism has come from all ends and LeBron has taken it upon himself to release statement for all the Lakers fans, apologising to them for the mess and promising that things would take a turn for the good next season.
Do you think Lakers can go all the way and win the NBA title next season?
