LeBron James’ injury has caught the imagination of the NBA fraternity, as James has largely been injury free all through his career.

He popped his groin during the 3rd quarter against the Warriors, when he tried to go for a loose ball.

He then immediately headed to the locker room and did not make an appearance on Christmas night again.

The Lakers later confirmed that the MRI scan that was conducted did not show anything serious with respect to LeBron’s groin and that he would be now assessed on a day-to-day basis.

LeBron wasn’t too worried in his interaction with the media post the injury as he confirmed that because he was able to walk off the court on his own, he wasn’t too worried with what had just transpired.

However, LeBron did reveal a rather classless gesture from the Warriors post his injury, one where a Warriors employee forced LeBron to take the longer route to the locker room.

According to the report by Yahoo Sports, LeBron did not go the visiting locker room from behind the Warriors basket(which is where it is located), but instead was forced to take the tunnel behind the Lakers’ bench, forcing him to walk all around the corridors before making it to the Lakers locker room.

“Yeah, [an arena worker] told me to go that way. They made me take the long route” LeBron said

“I know what they were doing.” he added.

LeBron then went onto speak about how he would be trying to bounce back from the injury and what the rehabilitation process would entail.

“It’s pretty rare for me to have an injury, period,” LeBron said.

“We have a great medical staff here, I have a great trainer, we’ll get to it. Obviously, I did a couple exercises to see if I could continue to go, but I didn’t feel like it would benefit my team or me, so I just came back and got a jumpstart on the rehab.” he added.

The King also described what exactly happened when he felt his groin on the court and what his immediate reaction post it was.

“No, me with injuries, I’m never too concerned about them,” James said.

“I was able to walk off on my own power. I felt a pop. [I wanted to] see if I could stretch it a few times to see if it would relieve, but it didn’t.” he added.

Lakers will now need to dig deep and win games during LeBron’s absence as you can’t really know for how long he would be gone. Steph Curry took a long time to come back from his groin injury as you can’t really rush these things.
