Lionel Messi bids farewell to Neymar on Instagram

If you needed any more confirmation about Neymar’s alleged move to PSG, this is it.

Lionel Messi has sent an emotional farewell message to the outgoing Brazilian on his Instagram profile. The pair are said to have shared a very close bond over the last few years, and are said to be great friends off the pitch.

Messi, along with Neymar and Suarez were part of the MSN trio that terrorized defenses all across Europe. Arguably one of the most lethal strike forces in history, the three forwards inspired Barcelona to a treble in Luis Enrique’s first season in charge as Barcelona manager.

It is interesting to note that Messi was one of the reasons why Neymar decided to leave Barcelona in the first place. The Brazilian wants to move because only then will he be able to escape Messi’s shadow ando fully express himself.

Neymar believes it is time he won the Ballon d’Or, something that he will not be able to do if he continues at Barcelona.

Only time will tell if Neymar is proved to be right. As of now, football fans will have to accept that one of the most popular trios of all time will no longer play in the same team again.
