Major news coming in as it looks like Barcelona may not sign their long term target, Antoine Griezmann. With the entire club ready to bring the Frenchman before the World Cup, Lionel Messi has vetoed the move, as he considers Griezmann a legitimate threat to the Ballon d’Or.

This is what BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion had to say,

“Manchester United have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of long-term transfer target Antoine Griezmann this summer after Barcelona cooled their interest in the 27-year-old, and it’s all thanks to Lionel Messi.

“The Red Devils have leapfrogged Barcelona to become the new 6/4 favourites to get their hands on the prolific goal-scorer after Messi apparently vetoed the Frenchman’s expected move to the Nou Camp this summer.

“The Argentinian appears to call the shots when it comes to incoming transfers and as a result the La Liga leaders’ odds have drifted from 6/4 to 2/1 to sign the former Real Sociedad player.

“Bayern Munich are priced at 5/2 to clinch the France international’s signature in the looming transfer window, while Real Madrid trail behind at 6/1 to steal Griezmann from their local rivals.”

With 26 goals and 13 assists this season, Griezmann has continued to show the sort of the form that has made him one of the most exciting players in world football.

After starring with France at Euro 2016, Griezmann will be one of the biggest stars in this summer’s World Cup, as he is one of the faces of a much fancied French side.

Manchester United were expected to land Griezmann last summer, but that did not come to any fruition. The French superstar though is looking to make a big move, as a switch to one of the European elites will certainly help him in his quest to win the Ballon d’Or one day.
