Liverpool Transfer News: Club president makes official statement on Jurgen Klopp's prime target

Brescia president has made an official statement on Liverpool’s target Sandro Tonali.

Liverpool have upgraded their squad to challenge for the league title this campaign. Jurgen Klopp has done enough to claim the Premier League title, but they are going neck-to-neck against the best ever English top flight league team.

In order to keep the pace with Pep Guardiola’s side, the Merseyside outfit are looking to upgrade their squad to land the priceless trophy. Jurgen Klopp has been keen on the Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, who is currently plying his trade with Serie A outfit Brescia.

Club president Massimo Cellino has said that the club will be looking to keep hold of their talented youngster as they look forward to the promotion to the Serie A next campaign.

He has told Radio Rai: “Tonali needs to grow, Brescia is the best place to do it.

“To whom do I compare him? He reminds me of Falcao. A complete player, but a bit different. He has the cold blood of a killer, the smile of a child and is still 19 years old. He’s a nice surprise, a nice player.

Cellino added: “Sell him? It’s so hard to find good players that I have no intention of giving anyone up to weaken the team. We will be back in Serie A after so many years, repeating the errors of the past would be a mistake.”

Sandro Tonali has made 33 appearances this season, scoring three times and assisting another seven times. He operates in the middle of the park and has the ability to sit back with the defence or act as a linkup between midfield and attack.

He has dubbed as the ‘New Pirlo’ and has an abundance of talent to break into the national team soon. Liverpool’s midfield is currently packed, but Klopp sees him as one for the future.
