Liverpool Transfer News: Jurgen Klopp prepared to trigger release clause of Bundesliga star

Jurgen Klopp is prepared to trigger the release clause of Bundesliga star in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool, who added much-needed quality all over the pitch over the last three years are trying to increase their squad depth in the forthcoming summer. The Reds have struggled to break down opponents defence sometimes and have scouted plenty of players in Europe over the last few months.

Jurgen Klopp, who has a long shortlist, is preparing a bid for Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen, according to the English publication Mirror. The German International has attracted plenty of European sides over the last few years by establishing himself as one of the best players for the club over the last few years.

Brandt can be released from his contract for as little as 21.5 million pounds in the summer transfer window – a fee which is considered tiny for his experience and calibre in the German top flight.

The 22-year-old was wanted by Jurgen Klopp during the summer of 2017, but he decided to turn them down because he wanted to develop at Germany instead. Operating in a completely different position currently, the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder could find the prospect of leaving to Liverpool as tempting.

The Reds will have to battle against the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid to land lure him away from Bayer Leverkusen. It will be interesting to see where he would end up after being linked with plenty of clubs. Besides Brandt, Jurgen Klopp has been keeping tabs on Leipzig striker Timo Werner, who would be allowed to leave for a fee of 60 million euros. His contract expires in 2020, but Bayern Munich are still leading the race.
