Lucas Torreira back in training

Arsenal star Lucas Torreira back in training: Uruguayan international Lucas Torreira is back in training after injury scare.

Arsenal’s new signing Lucas Torreira survived an injury scare during the international break last week. Torreira was substituted after half time during Uruguay’s match against Mexico, and sat throughout the match with an ice-pack on his knee.

However, there’s some good news for Unai Emery and Arsenal. Lucas Torreira is back in training with the first-team squad, and was pictured during a training session. The picture was posted by the head-coach Unai Emery himself, with the caption, “Focused on your improvement, Arsenal focused on NUFC.”

Lucas Torreira was one of the two midfield signings for Arsenal this summer, the second one being Mateo Guendouzi.

With Granit Xhaka struggling with form in the central midfield, Lucas Torreira is pinned to replace the Swiss international. Mateo Guendouzi has been terrific for Arsenal in his first month at the club, and was justifiably named the club’s player of the month for August.

Arsenal have made a struggling start to their Premier League campaign, with six points in four matches. Unai Emery’s side lost both of their opening games to Manchester City and Chelsea, before registering wins against West Ham and Cardiff.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also opened his account in their last match before the international break at Cardiff City.

Mesut Ozil was also among the players who were in the picture during the training session. Various reports link Ozil with a move away from Arsenal in January, with Fenerbahce being the preferred destination for the player. The former German international was reportedly involved in a training ground bust-up with Unai Emery before the match against West Ham.
