However, the win was soured by bitter fans who displayed appalling behaviour all through the match. The local fans expressed their displeasure with the match by first throwing a plastic bottle and their thrash at Fred and Lingard near the touchline when to take a corner.

One fan was even caught on camera doing a monkey chant. As if pelting the players with rubbish and indulging in racism was not enough, a video showing a Manchester City fan making a mockery of the tragic Munich disaster has now surfaced.

The fan in the video is not pretending to be an aeroplane to amuse himself but is actually making fun of one of the most tragic incidents in sports history. The Munich air disaster took place on 6th February 1958 when a plane carrying the Manchester United football team crashed on its attempt to take off.

In total, 23 people died while 19 were gravely injured. 8 Manchester United players died in the crash and 3 staff members also lost their lives. Off the 9 surviving players, 2 of them never played again. This was a moment that sent shocks around the world. To this particular fan though, it’s just banter.

To sum it up, City fans thought it was ok to throw their rubbish on opposition players, racially abuse one of them and then make light of the most tragic moment in their opponent’s history. It is not fair to judge an entire fan base because of the actions of a few idiot. However, they have certainly done themselves no favour with their behaviour.
