Man City team news: Manchester City will aim to stay in the title race as they visit Old Trafford. We take a look at the Manchester City predicted line up for the game.
Pep Guardiola’s men took a major hit last week when they were knocked out by Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League. However, Manchester City continued their winning run in the domestic top flight with a win over Pochettino’s side.
Phil Foden made a surprise start in the game and scored within 5 minutes of the kick-off. His goal remained the sole difference between the two sides.
Manchester City now faces another tough task, as they visit their neighbors Manchester United on Wednesday night. The Blues won the fixture at Etihad Stadium earlier this season with relative ease, as Silva, Aguero and Gundogan scored in a 3-1 win.
As Guardiola’s men prepare for the clash at Old Trafford, we take a look at their predicted line up.
Manchester City predicted line up vs Manchester United:
Goalkeeper: Ederson
The goalkeeper has been in top form this season and kept a vital clean sheet in the game against Tottenham last weekend. Manchester City cannot afford to drop a single point, simply because Liverpool don’t look like they will.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side facing a relatively easier set of fixtures in the league, Guardiola would want his goalkeeper to continue on his brilliant form.
Defence: Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy
Guardiola is expected to make only one change from the previous game against Oleksandr Zinchenko. Benajamin Mendy is close to return to match fitness and could start the game against Manchester United.

The manager was quick to realize that Kompany and Laporte don’t make an efficient CB pairing, and brought in John Stones, who was impressive against Tottenham in the league game.
Midfield: Fernandinho, Silva, Gundogan
Kevin De Bruyne’s injury has come as a major blow to Manchester City. The footballer has been brilliant for the side against Spurs in the Champions League game last week, even when the Blues lost on aggregate.

David Silva is expected to take his place in the midfield, with Fernandinho shielding the defence, while Ilkay Gundogan leading the charge from the left.
Forward: Silva, Aguero, Sterling
Raheem Sterling has been one of the key performers for Manchester City this season, while Aguero is also in brilliant goalscoring form.
The attack could cause significant problems to Manchester United’s defence, which has been far from the best this season. City’s attacking trio has proved itself time and again this season, and Solskjaer would have significant brainstorming to do on stopping the Blues.
