Man of the Series IND vs SA: Who was declared the Man of the Series after India whitewashed South Africa?

Man of the Series IND vs SA: A lot of Indian players have performed well across departments in the recently concluded Test series.

India have continued their dominance in Test cricket with second consecutive whitewash this year. Coming on the back of whitewashing West Indies in West Indies, India have now whitewashed South Africa at home.

The Indian batsmen not getting bowled out even once in the recently concluded three-match Test series against South Africa speaks highly about them calling the shots against the South African bowling lineup.

As far as the Indian bowlers are concerned, them bundling out the opposition’s batting lineup on as many as six occasions tells how they put on display a comprehensive effort.

India opening batsmen Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal, spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav were among their best players throughout the series.

However, it was Sharma who won the Man of the Series award in addition to being declared the Man of the Match award. Playing as an opening batsman for the first time, Sharma scored 529 runs in three Test matches at an average of 132.25 and a strike rate of 77.45 including three centuries.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to the management for that opening slot. I can take a lot of positives about how to counter the new ball. The new ball is always a threat, and to be able to counter that will be a huge positive. I can take my game forward from that,” Sharma was quoted as saying during the post-match presentation ceremony.
